The Gloves are Off!

2 weeks of taking care of the boys (Anindita is in India) and we managed to do a Silicon Valley getaway - 4 hours to skiing! It also happened to be Rikki's 9th birthday ! So the gloves are off!

Spooky - when we returned from Bear Valley and parked the car, Rikki was 9 (having been born in 3-99) and the trip meter said 399 miles!!

Social Networks - Online and real?

The lines between online activities and the real world have gotten more and more blurry. Shopping, banking, dating, chat, phone, entertainment - they're moving online more than ever. But you know that Social Networks aren't just for fun when you hear of 600 students not showing up to school due to a Myspace posting that there's going to be a gunman on campus.

What's the world coming to (online or otherwise?)

Two good decisions in one!

Blu-Ray wins vs. HD-DVD - the 2-in-one feature of movie watching and game playing on one device was what caused me to go and get a PS3. Seems that this may have worked in favor of Blu-Ray killing off HD-DVD! Now this is helping PS3 sales over Xbox.

There was another good side-effect - PS2 games work on my PS3 - great, since there are not a whole lot of great titles for PS3 yet :-)

Convergence and simplicity .... games on the iPhone which is also a Wiimote :-) One device fits all...pockets.

Exercise ...and the brain!

Just realized that I'm not doing much in either department ... reading or exercise!

well ... just started playing some table tennis again, and started reading a book that I've wanted to read for YEARS - "Hitchhiker's Guide..." made it through half the book -
now I want more exercise...!
